Annual Drum Major Competition

THE NEAL ANDREWS PERPETUAL TROPHY

Jason Paguio with mace
Jason Paguio Winner 2007 Competition

After last year's very successful Drum Major Competition at Seaside, it is now an annual event for you to enjoy each and every year. Mickie (Lujan) Shaw, herself a championship Drum Major, will oversee the competition. Last year's was won--to no one's surprise--by World Champion Drum Major Jason Paguio of the Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band.

Mickie advises that several excellent Drum Majors (including herself) will demonstrate their marching and baton handling skills on the grass beside Center Stage this year.

Thanks to his generous Sponsorship of this new Competition, Ventura City Councilman Neal Andrews will present THE NEAL ANDREWS PERPETUAL TROPHY to the winner, along with appropriate cash awards to the top three places. Neal has been involved in Scottish Festivals for many years and sponsored a major trophy at the great Alma Highland Festival and Games in Alma, Michigan as well as being a supporter and Board Member of these Seaside Highland Games from the beginning.
