The Coveted Tartan Surfboard Award is presented at the Central Coast British Car Club Car Show held annually in July in Ventura. It is awarded to the car that receives the most visitor votes during the show. The award is presented by the Chief of the Seaside Highland Games, Chief John Lowry, and the winning automobile is the featured vehicle at that year's Seaside Highland Games British Car event.
Congratulations!

2008 Winner

1959 Austin Healey Sprite

Restored and owned by Dominic and Davana Valentino of Glendora CA. This classic Sprite is a supercharged 948CC 4 cyl beauty.

Says Dominic, "When we picked up the car, it was a basket case, barely ran, wouldn't stop.  This is the result of twenty-five months of hard work, and one understanding wife.  A two year journey to not only restore a car, but to keep alive part of California's racing history.  The car is basically stock with the addition of some period performance parts.  Some of the features are a Judson Supercharged 948cc engine, Abarth exhaust, leather interior and Lucas dual horns."
